Library shuts at 2.30 pm on Saturdays. 'tis annoying. At least I'm just killing time (and doing some preliminary research for next week). Would be much annoyed if I'd come in specially to spend an afternoon here.

(And what am I doing research on? Hmm.)

The library does have a copy of the OED (even though it's not apparently listed in the catalogue).

Lugent a. rare-o [ad. L. lugentem pr. pple f. lugure to mourn.] a. Weeping b. (See quot. 1889)
1656 in BLOUNT Glossogr. 1889 Syd. Soc. Lex., Lugent, weeping. Applied to plants with drooping branches

-o is used after the label rare to indicate words or sense for which no contextual example from a printed source was available to the editors

One is left to wonder if its ever been used as an actual English word, rather than Latin
