The library does have a copy of the OED (even though it's not apparently listed in the catalogue).


Lugent a. rare-o [ad. L. lugentem pr. pple f. lugure to mourn.] a. Weeping b. (See quot. 1889)
1656 in BLOUNT Glossogr. 1889 Syd. Soc. Lex., Lugent, weeping. Applied to plants with drooping branches

-o is used after the label rare to indicate words or sense for which no contextual example from a printed source was available to the editors


One is left to wonder if its ever been used as an actual English word, rather than Latin
