Oatlands Spring Festival
Oct. 25th, 2009 06:11 pmOatlands is on the Midlands Highway, halfway between Launceston and Hobart. Actually it's not. The town is about 80 km from Hobart and 115 from Launceston, and it was bypassed when the "new" highway was built 30 or so years ago.
It's main features are a lot of old sandstone buildings (said to have the most of any town in the country) and the windmill.
The spring festival consists of lots of stallswith too many books in the main street, and another area over the back with a kid's section (sideshow games & show bags), a market and some other bits & pieces. And other places around the town had displays or things for sale.

We arrived early, before it had actually opened so the street is quiet.
( More photos, of course )
