As reported in yesterday's Mercury:
Thorpe beat Hackett to defend the gold medal he won in Sydney in 2000 and within 48 hours will appear on stamps available from post offices throughout metropolitan Australia.
Who said the postal service is slow?
And there, after every ad break, is Channel 7 offering their limited edition special something to commerate the above mentioned "historic event". I guess there's going to be a lot of limited edition special somethings created in the next few days. Let me try to look excited. (Did it work?)
I finally got around to changing the channel (!) on the TV to find the Olympics. Of course, given that I'm in here and TV is out there, it's a tad hard to watch. I have this theory that I can listen for anything interesting to come on. Really.
Then 10 mins after that, they take a break for "Australian Idol. Oh well, problem solved for a while and I put the radio back on too.
