I think the Wordworm total is wrong. There's not 40K of story left. First draft has 16K of story after this point. Maybe my total is right.

It doesn't seem that much story.

Next scene is hard. Nate has an argument with the boss's daughter that is taken the wrong way by her father; and then he has to escape. Somehow.

It is so tempting to skip it :|

I do that in first drafts quite a bit, bit harder in the second. Although, now that I mention it, I struggled to rewrite chapter 12 of Stupid Novel. It just seemed too hard. So I skipped it. When I came back to it, it became chapter 12 and 13 and 14. No wonder it seemed like so much work :)

This one though, I think it's just me, I won't say being lazy. I did end up sort of writing it, after avoiding it all day. (It's all dialogue with just enough action to link the dialogue together). The biggest problem was trying to work out how/where to start it. Once I got past that, it was doable.

I think I'll leave it like that and move on.
