Melton Mowbrary, in the Southern Midlands, where the road to Bothwell joins the main highway. Originally known as Crossmarsh. That is the area was known at Crossmarsh. Then the guy who built the hotel (in the 1850s) named it (or his property) after his birthplace in the UK and that name was picked up for the area.









All Saints Church of England. The little plaque near the door says:

"This building was built in 1866 for use as a Congregational chap and schoolroom. From 1901 to 1939 it was used as a state school and in 1942 it was transferred to the Church of England. It was restored in 1990 by members of the Dick family in memory of George Abercomby Dick (1909-1987) Owner of nearby Mt Vernon from 1940 to 1967 and for twenty years a trustee of the diocese."
