Have decided the dog is officially Weird.

The other night, I didn't sleep well and partly because Somenoe decided in the middle of the night that they were thirsty. Bark Bark Bark BarkBarkBarkBarkBARKBARKBARKBARK Until I get up and let her out of the bedroom, and wait for her to do whatever, and then come back in *sigh*

So, the next night I say to her, "Look, I want to sleep tonight. Go to the toilet, have something to drink and eat before bed because I don't want you barking."

That night, no barking.
The next night, no barking.
The next night, loud sighs and whining. She didn't go to the toilet so she obviously wanted to go out. But no barking.

The yesterday mum comes up so I put dog outside. Dog is excited. She wants to be inside with me. She keeps barking. I tell her to stop barking. I growl. I shout at her. I give up. It's getting late & dark & cold, dog wants to come in where I am so she's barking every time she hears me say anything. So I get up, go to the door and say to her, "You're not coming in. You're a naughty dog, for barking. Only good dogs can come inside." And she stops barking.

She's weird.

Wouldn't surprise me actually. I've spent the last decade learning that what dogs are supposed to be able to do and what dogs actually can do is not the same thing. Not even close.

Totally. And they can actually learn up to 40 words. There's no doubt our dog knows English.
