Carnarvon Houses
May. 16th, 2010 02:11 pmTwo of the Carnarvon-era buildings.
Trentham was built in the 1890s as a shop and residence, but it burnt down during one of the bushfires. It was rebuilt about 1900.
Just showing the kitchen though, because the wall cupboards are odd. They're built into the outside wall, so they extend beyond the side of the house.
I do have more photos, both inside and outside, although not many of the latter it was raining on and off and I didn't want camera to get wet. So if anyone really wants to see a recreated 1915 interior and garden I could organise something :)
The former police station & residence, which now houses an archaeology display. I think it was in use from 1936 to the 1970s. As you can tell, there is a lot of information about these buildings available online :)
That should leave me with two posts to do (military/penitentiary, and the Point) or three if I include inside the civil row house, which surprised me but the photos aren't good. I shall have to think on it.
