At Triabunna, which is otherwise a fairly ordinary looking coastal town, I came across these, which puzzled me. Two identical buildings at 90o to each others. Not houses then. So what are they?

I know because I went across the road and read the information panel there :)

Date: 2010-03-06 01:03 am (UTC)Like a farm yard sort of set-up? I've seen that on older farmsteads (obviously) which is probably why my first thought was "barns" followed by "Two of them? In a town?"
Now you've got me thinking, I have seen that layout elsewhere and I suspect it will be coming up in photos in the next week.

Date: 2010-03-06 01:05 am (UTC)Thanks :) I do try for the "artistic" thing sometimes, rather than just "documenting". Actually, I do quite often but I'm rarely happy with the results.

Date: 2010-03-08 10:28 am (UTC)I'd have guessed a mill building or something of the sort - somewhere where heavy things were stored in the upper storey, which makes it some sort of warehouse/industrial. I'd also expect to find evidence of a crane or pulley near the middle 'door'.
Thanks for sharing these; I'm having a lovely time doing a virtual trip.
