Camera Comparison

Took the borrowed camera for a walk today, to see if I could get an idea of how it goes. After some thought, it seemed sensible to walk a route that I'd photographed before. That is, the Olde Seaport, through Royal Park, up to Gorge. Once I've looked through them, I'll some of the better ones.
However, in the Quadrant Mall there is a fountain.

That figure on top, I have tried a number of times to take a decent photo of it. Because I'm there on the way home, I'm shooting into the sun. With a nearby building behind it, I can get something acceptable. With sky behind it, I just get a dark blur. So it seemed a good subject for a comparison test. (Rotated & reseized, otherwise unedited.)

That's with the Canon.

That's the broken Fuji :(

And the borrowed Ricoh. The Fuji wins on colour, especially of the building. The Ricoh does a better job of getting the details on the statue though (look at the hands and face)

Then I got this one. Straight into the bright sky. I'm impressed.

For "Fun with Settings" the Canon deserves an Honourable Mention
