Baby steps
Dec. 22nd, 2006 10:22 pmLooking back through old LJ & news group posts tonight, trying to make sense of this writing thing. Why I rewrote This but wasn't able to get into That. There's one novel I have that I'm rather fond of but despite two attempts at rewriting it, haven't made an significant progress. And there is a first draft that was fun to write but I have no desire to go back to. Then here's another that I have rewritten twice, declared done and started submitting.
I found this post in early October, two years ago. This is my earliest reference to the "successful" rewrite.
Somtimes writing a sentence is the hardest thing to do.
But it does make later sentences easier.
Today's word count: 312
The next day I managed 500 words. So I just kept pushing at it until it got easier? Which is what I tried to do with Magic novel, but it didn't work, twice. Maybe I just out stubborned it this time.
Posting little progress reports seems to help though (the above one was about 6 weeks after I started blogging). Should try that with Fox, starting tomorrow.
