Mar. 8th, 2006 11:59 pmI gave up on rewriting Magic. Maybe gave up isn't the word. I got much further into it (over half way) than I had on previous attempts. So that is an victory, not a defeat.
Now I'm working on the third draft of.... how can a novel not have a working title? It doesn't even have its own filename on the folder. The folder it lives in is called 'Treasure', but that's the name of the original, abandoned novel that this one is a prequel too.
Maybe I could come up with a real title.
Third drafts are scary, because I can't say "I'll fix this in the next rewrite". This is the fix-it rewrite. They are also fun because the bulk of the work is done and it's really just fiddling.
It'll be good to have another (better) novel to send around too.
