How To Lose A Good Sea
Jan. 7th, 2006 12:00 amBotty title.
I think I am slowly being taken over by a "research project" I abandoned years ago. I abandoned it because it's not really going to accomplish anything, no matter how interesting it might be. And turning it into fiction is Not a Good Idea. No matter how interesting it might be.
I have a novel I am working on anyway.
So there.
And speaking of which, on reading back through last year's posts, it might be more interesting to anyone reading them, if I go a bit more detail.
So, this novel is about a guy who returns home to continue training as a mage, except he isn't able to and instead finds himself holed up in a room with a couple of story stealing characters, reading banned books, while his daughter runs around the palacegetting into trouble showing how well she can look after herself.
In today's installment, he has just discovered he was sent away for political reasons, rather than for his own good. This, to put it mildly, is a bit of a blow to his world view.
That was not in the first draft. No where, not even a hint of it. ... OK I did want this scene to have a point but that? Who is actually writing this?
