Haven't been doing much lately, unless working on novel counts. I finally got to the last chapter. Except I forgot the start of the climax scene (I've got stories shorter than that scene). Now I'm up to the last chapter. Except, I forgot to type up the extra scene I had to put in, that isn't on the whiteboard because I hoped I didn't need it. Now I'm up to the last chapter.
Well, I will be once I final the 'aftermath' scene, after the climax scene.

This is the chapter that needs ends, it just goes on and on my friend...

Went down to Grammar school fair today. Wasn't going to. It started at 10, I woulddn't get there until after 12 and last years wasn't that interesting. Missed the bus, so walked down. The bowls club on the way down were having a "garage sale" wherein I bought a set of four glasses with sailing ships on them, a cow milk jug & some spoons (which might end up on the stall or might end up in my spoon collection).

Considered going home then because it would make me later to fair, but I was half way there. Wasn't too promising. The plant stall was the usual stuff -- the number of plants I want that I don't need to know exactly that they are is, um, I would have looked at zucchini or cucumbers.

Wandered around a bit and found the book stall. That still had lots of books on it. Lots. Even after I took two bags full. Mostly kids books, that are intended for stall, and some others that will go into Christmas presents. And some magazines for me. And a herb book that I'm sure if I'll keep or not. It'd be a nice book for someone who didn't have a herb book - lots of pretty pictures with a section on plants and gardening with them and how to use and half the books is recipes. I've got 3 herb books (one being a very large, reference type that covers a very broad range of plants) of which two are out on loan. Have to think about it.

Spent a bit of time out in the garden today too. Bought a black Russian tomator plant at Becks on Thursday (only $2 too) so that had to go in, with a plastic bottle over it. The traditional week for planting out tomatoes is Launceston show Week (i.e. next week) so it should be OK. The two tomatoes I bought at the end of August are growing quite well in their foam box too.

This year, growing my veges in foam boxes on the porch. This will stop little dog burying things in them, sitting in them and eating the cucumbers. The horseradish, in one of the boxes with a bottle over it, has a decent number of leaves on it now. Took off the bottle. Hopefully it is big enough to deal with snails on its on.

Garden is fun to poke around in, despite its small size. The mini-cyclamens have reappeared, they're in danger of being grown over thought. My first rose flower for the season has appeared (Castle B of course, it'll probably be the last of the season too). The rue plant is growing quite happily (never had much luck with that in the past). Ditto on all for the sage. More of the apple mint has escaped, so I planted bits in little pots. Someone might like them.

The self sown kangaroo paw is growing very happily (its apparent mum died, there's a self sown black violet in that pot now), as are the sweet peas. I'm hoping they're the species one (Cupani; as I didn't care for the other one I planted last year, Lady Grisel?). I like self sown plants. In one pot, there are some self-sown lettuces, that grew from seed from a self sown lettuce last year, that grew from seed from a lettuce that bolted before I could eat it. Still edible, actually I prefer them to the original plant. They actually have a taste and texture.
