Standing in the supermarket, studying the rows of tea, I had an idea.
The selection of tea available in the supermarket annoys me. There are rows of the stuff. There's ordinary regular black tea available in various forms (loose, regular bags, extra strong, tea pot bags, draw string bags) and quantities (10 bags, 25, 50, 100, 500). There's all sorts of non-tea teas i.e. herbal teas. But if you want a variety of tea-based tea, your choices are limited to a tiny selection of overpriced 10 tea bag packs.
Bah.
I want something caffiene and I want Camellia sinensis and I want something different that I can taste. There doesn't seem to be anywhere else in the stupid city to buy this either. Well, the Oxfam shop has a nice, free trade tea that is affordable but it's loose tea and this requires either a teapot with a built in strainer or an extra piece of paraphenalia. So that is sitting in the kitchen awaiting my purchase of something.
Anyway, I'm standing in the supermarket and I think maybe I can buy one of the flavoured things and put two bags in mysingle two serve pot. So I looked at the chamomile (ick) and the blackberry and I remember the herbs I have growing at home in my little garden, that I can grab a few leaves off and stick in. Lemon balm, for example, which is why I planted it in the first place.
So tea problem solved without me having to pay anything!
Today I've got spearmint flavoured tea.
