A doctor is a gentlemen and gentlemen don't have dirty hands.

Half listening to the news update last night, the 5 mins one between shows on ABC, and thought I heard that a lack of hand washing by health workers was helping infection spread through hospital.

That is what they said. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200510/s1476147.htm for the particular news story but a quick google will turn up similar stories in other places.

You sound like my mum!

My mum was a children's nurse for 30+ years and quit in the 90's to work as a teaching assistant in a school because she hated what had happened and was happening to the NHS in terms of it being more business than patient centred.
