The one that got away

Last night, when I went to bed, this was a perfectly good mouse trap.



I guess it could pass as abstract modern art now.

Note the abscence of anything to stick the bait in/on. That's what the big staple in the middle was attached to.

I can accept that the "victim" got lucky and the staple holding down one side came loose. But removing the part holding the cheese? I think required some effort.

Nah, she was curled up on my bed.

She hasn't taken any interest in the trap at all, or the mice. Although she occasionally decides there's odd things in the kitchen, so she lies down watching the kitchen door, for a few minutes.
