I only just stumbled across E-How - Clear Instructions on How To Do (just about) Everything So I had a browse, as you do.

How to Buy a Fancy Food Dish for a Cat:
Step 1. Look at the wide range of materials of which bowls are made. They are typically plastic, ceramic, stainless steel or stoneware.

I was wondering how to go about that.

How to Put Your Dog on a Vegetarian Diet
Step 1. Buy a natural health book for dogs or, better yet, one that specializes in vegetarian diets. Follow the diet given.

Isn't it nice to know there'sa place where you can go to be told these things?

And then there's this

I reckon I could contribute to this.

"How to write:
Buy a book on writing, by a writer. Those guys know their shit."

"How to cook:
Buy a recipe book. Follow the instructions. Remember to buy the ingredients - you may not have them around the house."

"How to buy a book:
Go to a shop which sells books. Select the book you would like to buy. Take the book to the sales counter, and give the bookseller sufficient currency to cover the cost of the book, which will usually be marked on the lower back cover. Alternatively, present the bookseller with a credit card."

I'm off work, and online. I'll get everywhere first.

How to Submit your Thesis:
Go to your university's registrar's office. Say, "Here is my thesis." Give the registrar your thesis. Collapse in a gibbering heap.

It's so anticlimatic, I hear.

but not useful from where I stand

Step one: first, finish your thesis.

It is anticlimactic. But, you never lose the sense of achievement.

I think there's an opportunity there. You know, if you run out of things to procrastinate with.

Cause there *is* a danger in that ...?

You could have a series. Or make your own HowTo website!

(In their defence, I guess I should point out that how to live with JR and how to stop your dog barking did look useful, and how to break up a dog fight was a good starting point)
(On further reflection, those 3 articles could be combined)

How to live:
Breathe in.
Breathe out.

Repeat ad infinitum.

Stupid is as stupid does

No, this won't work with horses. This is more or less a method you'd use with a dog. Horses don't accept praise in the same way.

I wondered about that. It sounded much like training a dog. Except that a dog won't go to sleep just because you leave it standing there.

I've heard that ponies are being kept as housepets more frequently, though. Housetraining was the first thing I thought of.

Neat icon, btw. :)

Just don't ask me HOW to do it

I suppose if I thought about it long and hard, I could come up with a way that would work with a horse (having to do with regular potty breaks and to want to capitalize on a horse's nature to stay clean), but geez, it's hard enough teaching people to housetrain their dogs!

And thank you. I like my icons too!
