Oosterschelde

Oosterschelde, from Rotterdarm. One of the three Dutch ships travelling around the world together. They have a web site for the voyage. Their next stop is Sydney, for the Naval Review, and then onto New Zealand.

If you can't read that, I'll type it out :)

The only yards, for square sails, are high up the foremast.

The order of these photos is from top to tail (or bow to stern), as well as I can. Hopefully that will remove need for "orientating" captions.

That's one taken from approximately the same position as the previous photo, but facing the other way.

There, to the left of the boat,

what looks like a window is actually

an entrance.

That's looking back at the way I've just come, but on the other side to the previous photos.

Still facing the same way, but further back.

No kids hanging off this one. The compass is just to the right there.

Now onto the next ship.

Date: 2013-09-28 12:45 am (UTC)I have a decent collection of tall ship photos already from a few years back (when I found I was writing a story set on a ship and didn't know much about them). I'm slowly them and other photos to a wordpress blog, for the use of other people, but at the moment it's heavy on transport (ships, boats, military vehicles, cars, carriages, gah) so I want to rectify the balance a bit before I start promoting it.
