Something clever here

I have to share this, because it's only a little thing (although it amused me) but it doesn't hurt to have a reminder. I don't have a copy of this memorandum, due its age, so you'll have to rely on a transcription.
Imagine a very neat hand, with an occasional flourish on the capitals, that is easy to read:
Campbelltown Police
24 April 1847
Memo:
The holder of the enclosed Document for which the sum of 5/6 was paid in November 1843, requests to know whether upon returning the same, he can obtain his Document of Conditional Pardon without any further fee - his personal description is contained in the Document in question.
The Hon:
The Colonial Secretary
And in the margin, as expected, is the name of the man referred to (complete with little circles on the D):
William Dodd
per Warwick
All good, then from habit, I cross-checked his name in the index on the state archives site, and found, well, have a look for yourself. Although the solution is obvious, once you think about it :)
