Ulverstone, on the north-west coast. Population about 10K. Established mid/late 19th century. IIRC main industries timber cutting & farming. Much modernised mid/late last century.
After some discussion the night before, the more interesting features are the rocket park & the clock, and the old hotel. Also there is a local history museum near the clock that is very interesting. These things are good to know.

Rocket park

Leven River

Now over the bridge...

That is the main street, which is not Main Street.

Architecturally/photographically, I guess this is most interesting intersection.

Furners Hotel (built 1903, it says).

ANZ bank. No idea what bank it was built as.

The sign on the side of the building has been partly knocked off. Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd, it did say.

"Ulverstone Medical Hall"

Lighthouse Hotel, was built on the site of an earlier hotel, Orient?

The railway station is a bit drafty.

Part 2 coming later :)
