Fun with characters

Playing with POV issues.
Evil WIP is whispering in my ear and saying I should rework the voice for one of the point of view characters.
There are two POVs in this thing. One is in first person. The other is in third, and the narrator is the first character recounting the second character's story. It works OK but it means the "voice" is a mixture of both characters. I want to see if I can rewrite that thread so its in the voice of character two. Which sounds like a good idea.
Until I sit down with my pen and actually try to replace the words of a late-30s, well-educated, middle-class-equivalent narrator with those of an immature juvenile-delinquent-wannabe.
