I don't get the point of writing a dramatisation of historical events. Not fictional characters acting out their story against the background of real events - I've just finished writing one of them - but real people going through real happenings as detailed in history books. What is the point?

As a reader I get it - they are more readable than the NF version and you get more involved with the chararacters.

So - are you saying you do get it or you don't? :-) I get it. It does indeed help you get involved with the characters - and it's someone's interpretation of the events.

I especially love space dramas, like some written for television and, oh, how wonderful Apollo 13 was! It was so very good that friends of mine who are major space fans who know the story backwards stayed and watched it twice in a day when it first came out. Docos are fine, but the interpretation of history is even better for me.
