Back to Nile

We've been here before but I wanted to find the Nile River. It's just south of the village a bit.
Here in fact.

That's on the bridge, looking back towards the village. Although there was some more buildings in there, back off the road just enough that they don't show. I'll get to them. River first.

All pretty with the blue sky and clouds reflected in the water. Looking out to the west.

And the on the other side of the bridge, it's looking east (strange, I know). That'd be Ben Lomond in the background. Seems it's always Ben Lomond in the background of my photos.

So I went back to the other side and took a photo with the Western Tiers in the background, just for variety :)

That's the bridge. I assume the modern road has been put over an older structure but it's not exactly something that's easy to find information about.

So back towards the village. The two weatherboard buildings on either side of I've taken photos of before but that's not going to stop me more. Well, actually it is. Sort of.

New paint job. Almost. It's an improvement on what was there before though. (And there's the ghost that was following me around ;)

I have some more photos of this place, which I will post because I noticed something interesting. That's for later.

A b it further along the road now. Just beyond the road guards/bridge, is the lane down to the church (lane is on the right, the street sign is on the left) which is where I'm going, so there won't be any more "town" photos.

That's the hotel, where we've also been before. (See, ghost is following me!)

*frown at the comfrey* Before I left to take photos, mother said not to go into places that might have snakes, and I said I wouldn't. Now there is a place that looks like it'll have snakes, especially on a warm, sunny day, which it was.

On the other side, that grass is even worse. It's at least knee high, so if you want a look, you'll have to make do with the photos from last time, and a grumble that it should be illegal to let buildings just fall down :)

I'm sure the war memorial is not leaning as much as it appears, but the camera is straight. If it was a bit closer, I'd point out Nan's cousin's name, but you can't read it there.
This is the road to the church.

There's the church, so this the end of the road. It's a pretty little church. I can't remember when it was built. I think the main part was constructed in the 1850s and the tower in 1893. There's some information on it here. (And the ghost obviously likes it, this is where it started following me!)

I find the shelter interesting, and there's a long seat under it.
And that's all for today :)
