is a pain. It's past my shoulder blades now so I think that's the longest it's ever been, but it always means I'll have to look at other ways to wash it. It's impossible to shampoo it all. It's impossible to condition it all. It's impossible to stop it becoming a tangled mess.
Then when it's wet, it's too long to leave loose but putting it up takes hours longer to dry, and I can't do anything with it while it's wet.
That's the problem. Years ago I let it grow out to its apparent natural length, which was about halfway down my shoulder blades. I say apparent, because it seems if it's looked after properly it should grow longer, which it is. But this means not brushing/combing when it's wet, no towel rubbing/air drying, putting it up at night (which I actually prefer now because it doesn't tangle overnight), no colouring with permanent colours (bah). So when it's wet, there's nothing to I can do about it but grumble.
