The reason I keep going back to the Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart isn't to do with wooden boats. I can get that every year in Launceston, and it doesn't cost me a thing. No, this is the reason.

So a short parade of the non-boats from the Wooden Boat Festival, which might be the last photo entry for a while because my connection drops out every time I upload more than one or two photos. It's happened every time but once so I don't think it's a coincidence.

Not even wooden ships. HMAS Parramatta and Ballarat.

Photo 4

And a third navy ship. Young Endeavour is a sail training ship. She wasn't open that weekend, that I saw, but I posted photos three years ago.

As I was walking past, a young boy shouted "That's a pirate ship". I think there were better candidates for pirate ships at the Festival.

These two actually.

Photo 6

Windeward Bound is possible the newest of the tall ships. I've been on board at least twice before and I've put photos up before.

Looking at the third photo on that page, I remember the problems I had trying to get something that wasn't just a black blob. I think that photo was corrected in PSP too. The one above I just snapped is passing. I really shouldn't grumble about the camera, even if it a contrary beast.

Photo 7

Enterprize is a topsail schooner from Melbourne, a replica of the ship that took the first settlers to Melbourne. I did have look over last time they were over, but I don't seem to have put up photos and now I have more photos from this year. So I have to do something with them.

Photo 9

Another brigantine, the One and All is a sail training ship from South Australia, built 1985. I have posted some photos before but now I have some better ones, so I might put them up. (Or not, depending on whether I can I do without to much hassle.)

Photo 2

James Craig, iron barque, 1874, I have been on board twice before and they wanted $8 so I made do with making eyes at her. Plenty of photos from previous visit.

Photo 5

Lady Nelson, a replica brig from the 1980s, I did'nt bother looking about either. I used to know her quite well, although I've never done a photo post like I have for the other tall ships.

Photo 10

And finally another old lady, the ketch May Queen, built in 1867. I've looked over her in the past and I ran out of gold coins so I didn't have a look this year.
