Middle finger (right click finger) is sore around the knuckle, sharps pains type sore :(

Bad things to do when mousing finger is sore

Games involving lots of clicking
Typing

Good things to do

Weeding garden, esp if lots of sticky weed & prickly thistles are involved, because the itching & prickling along hands & arms covers other ouchies.

More bad things to do

Rub Deep Heat into finger and then rest head on hand.

Ah, while I admire your rediscovery of the philosophy behind acupuncture ("when I drop a brick on my foot my head stops hurting") I don't *really* think weeding the prickly things in your garden is a *good* way to fix your finger!

Did the Deep heat work (on your finger, not your head)? I suggest you try heat packs (though the Deep Heat probably wouldn have cleared your sinuses? ; - )), alternatively try cold packs and see if they help. Not using the finger is also recommended (so no giving my post the finger, okay? : - )

Hope you feel better soon!

I've been meaning to get out in the garden for weeks (my summr bulbs have sprouted in the pack!) so it was good excuse & it didn't aggravate finger!

I'm thinking it's bruised (meaning it should get better with time (I wish it would hurry up though) rather than worse). I have a very recent memory of thunking something very hard by with a leftward movment, I can't remember whether it was hand/foot/arm/leg, but left side of my finger would make sense.

The Deep Heat did work, for a time. My heat pack won't work on fingers :( It's not swollen of anything, just sore. I guess I hit the bone.
