• ponder how characters can stick to the pre-decided scenes, down to the cool lines of dialogue, but still bear little resemblance to their original incarnations.
  
  
• worry that novel does not have 12786 words left in it
  
  
• realise the MC's daughter is wiggling her way into a sub-plot
  
  
• wonder if the "breaking into the impenetrable fortress" scene can be left for the second draft
