Little houses
Oct. 15th, 2007 05:32 pmAt the end of September, I bought some little houses on Ebay. It's not easy to find little houses at reasonable prices, even on Ebay, and I'd bought 10! Then time passed and they didn't arrive. There were complaints in the seller's feedback about items not arriving. Was sad :(

When I got home, there was a package in my letterbox with these! Happy!
Here they are on the shelf with my other little houses. There's almost 50 of them. As you can from my user pic, they used to sit in front of books but they growed. They might be hard to find, but that doesn't stop them taking up more room.

There is such a variety of styles and materials and details, and they come from so many different places.
The one in middle at the front of the bottom shelf (white with red roof), I've had forever. The big ones in the back corners of the bottom shelf came from a Dollar Shop over near
the_aspie_zoo, the one to the left of the lighthouse is one of those fancy English ones. There's a variety in price with these :)
The mushroom (back right corner, top shelf), the two little clay ones (left, bottom shelf) and huon pine cottage (right of the brown ones) came from the Deloraine Craft Fair years ago. The huon pine cottage has damage on the back from an encounter with Cyclone Charlie, so I've had it at least 14 years. The guy I bought it from is still making them though. They are quite gorgeous, and there are bigger ones too.
The one left of the mushroom & the white roof on the far left both open up to show a little scene inside. They were Easter decorations from Woolworths? in Adelaide Mall. The all white one (top, right) is a little trinket box, that the to comes off. Mum bought the little white Irish cottage (front middle of top shelf) when she was in Ireland last year.
The castle at the back of the top shelf didn't photograph very well, but it's sitting on a hill above a wall, with a road leading up to it from a drawbridge over a river, and in the back is another little stairway leading to another small door. The best little houses have little details on the back too.
