Sick of market stalls. At Esk today. It started off very slow and the notes in our money tin had been banked, so at one point we were trying to work out if we had enough on us to pay for the table. We even coutnted the 50c coins that were put out to sell (there was 16 of them, that's $8 in there). Got busier later on though :)

Which is how Douglas, 4 year old nephew, disappeared. He'd gone to put something in the rubbish bin and we didn't notice he hadn't come back. Until mum turned up and asked where he was. He wasn't in the market building, or in the area around it, or the surrounding show area. Last time he'd wandered off, he'd headed down the levee that runs alongside the river, I went that way too look. Mum went back towards the city, towards the old railyway bridge, and after a long walk, found him on the other side of the river, heading up the hill.

Scary for a bit though :(

Very scary. I jumped to the end to make sure he'd been found, then read the how. I've lost my kids a few times over the years. Usually, it's been due to miscommunication: "you were supposed to be holding her hand," "no, you were". Heart literally feels like it is in your throat until you find them. So scary.

Yeah, Douglas tends to wander. He'll do laps around the stalls in the market, example, or run off at a picnic. As a toddler, if you went after him, he'd giggle and run off. Had to watch and wait for him to come back. :|

Interesting thing about Sunday though, even though the river and it's edge of reeds was close, the walkway the runs past the market building is on top of the levee alongside the river, we didn't check it. You don't *want* to check it, so you look elsewhere first.
