A long decoration that is hung on the wall for holidays or celebrations, often from one corner to the other, or from a corner to the centre. But more involved than one long, narrow strip of paper or cloth.

I think of a frieze as something you glue on the wall rather than a seasonal thing (I need to edit my post).
