I did say something about not doing Nanowrimo this year, didn't I? I'm sure I did. In fact, I was quite fairly certain I wouldn't.
Until about a month ago when I met a bunch of characters who were interesting in their own little ways and had a story to tell. So they've been chatting away giving me names and a storyline, complete with a twist. Nice cooperative bunch.
Then Saturday evening I got blindsided by a new character. A thief even. One of those fantasy cliches I've no interesting in using, although if I did, it would be a--- but that was where the problem started. One random thought, and ten minutes later I have a plot skeleton, background, supporting characters and a bitter, frustrated ex-thief whose name is not Jacob.
They have a week to fight it out.
