From the TV interview last night, which I didn't watch, but the news stories make for interesting reading.

"Mr Russell, 34, and Mr Webb, 37, were speaking publicly for the first time since their dramatic rescue which sparked elation around Australia.

"They said they had made a pact to take messages to each other's families should only one of them live. In the absence of writing paper they also scribbled letters to their loved ones in biro on their overalls and their arms. But some of these were washed off by a combination of trickling water and sweat in their sweltering underground prison."

Novel has two storylines that converge about half way through (chapter 17/18 of 35). Currently I am working on one of those storylines -- fine tuning the characters, adding in any missing bits of story, putting in descriptive fixing transitions and all the fiddly stuff; then going back and adding in more descriptive stuff.

So I have

16 chapters

and 35 scenes (that doesn't add up right)

and to start with, the first scene is 3500 words
