Revisiting this one now I have it in front of me:

The other side is marked "Tesla RVK 125W" RVK = "Mercury High Pressure UV".

There is a small screw which (I assume, it's rusty) will allow the thing to open up so the the bulb bit can be replaced.

There is a wire (inside a glass? pipe) that goes up through the side bit from the base to the top of the tube.

Just reposting these.

They're particularly annoying because I have no clue what they could possibly be, to even start searching.

Top left one, the bit round thing on the end of the wire is a "socket" for a light bulb.

Bottom one has a similar socket but it's obviously not for a standard bulb. That round thing on it is very fine red wire coiled around & around, with a rubber? rim.

The mystery plant has flowered! After years of waiting, I saw today that it had flowers on it. Oh! I went and ran back inside to get some shoes despite it being wet & cold & getting dark outside.

But I stil don't know what it is :(

Have to get some photos of it.

And there's another little pink flower that I noticed today that I don't know what it is. It looks like a crocus but they're supposed to flower in spring. Asked mother. She's going to ask her sister who has some.

Package Day

Got three packages today. Postman delivered two & I picked one up from the post office.

The first was a big bag of linen -- doilies, tableclothes & similar stuff. Over 30 pieces. To sell at market, and keep a couple for myself. Well, four or five.

Then was a box of clay pipes from the UK. The sale for this only closed 7 days ago. That's quick. Clay pipes bowls, because the stems are narrow and break off easily, or are broken off. Mostly the ornate ones from about 1870s, some plainer & older ones though. Keeping one, others are to sell. Interested to see how they go. They're not something that is easy to get locally.

The final bag was vintage kitchenware. Knives, patty pans, slotted spoons, a mincer. Also interested to see how these sell. Some kitchen stuff sells well, some doesn't. Kept a few pieces for myself. There's a couple that I can't identify (of course). I'll post pics of them when I find the camera's card. And a rather nice bread knife with a patent number.

I have a lot of new stuff to take with on the weekend.
