Caught bus to museum.

None of the people I went to see were there :( Did get the cake that had been left for me, by one of the Tuesday morning tea visitors. Also checked the dates on the thingy in the office.

(It's an unidentified thingy, with 2 patent dates on it. The first one is Nov. ? 1865. The tag says Nov 2, I think it's 7. There were patents issued on Nov 7 & they seem to have been done weekly. The format of the date means it should be a US patent, which are available online but you can only search by number. Heheh. By process of elimination, you can work out which numbers were issued on a given date, and then load each of the bloody things to see what it is. Nov 7 1865 isn't too bad. There's just over 100. None of which seem applicable to a kitchen thingy. On the plus side, I now have list of things that patents were issued for on Nov 7, 1865. Not sure what use that is but... Is the date wrong? Is it UK/European (which don't seem to be searchable that far back)?'tis a mystery)

Walked into town. Intended to buy a calendar. It's a good time to buy a calendar because they're 50% off. Except in Birchalls, where they were only 30% off. Bah. Couldn't find any I like anyway, I want ones that you can look at a lot, that give you ideas. The better country ones do this, because you can "explore" the picture. I picked up a lovely one a few years ago that had a lot of windows & door photos. You know, the sort where you find yourself wondering what if through them. Then the last one I picked up, Dragonology, looked interesting but it was almost $20 still. I've got $10, maybe $15 if it is really good, to spend.

To the chain bookshop next & they were also 30% off. Bah. All boring ones anyone.

The newsagent in the Quadrant had them out the front for $15. Not too bad for the price.

The other bookshop had a lot out the front still. Some nice ones too. A Yates garden one that was tempting. Then I found an notquote black & white sailing ship one that was Very Tempting. Then I saw this, wwhich is just the perfect calendar. It's almost all old street scenes. Just the sort of thing for wandering around in & using for story settings. And just 29.95. :(

Considered waiting a week or so to see if they put their prices down but there was only one there and... so it came home with me.

Next I went into Target to see if they had printer ink, because I've given up trying to find the final refill for the evil Canon. They didn't have refill packs at all, just a small selection of cartridges. You think I'm going to pay $60 for ink for a printer that should have been replaced years ago (hope it's listening...). They didn't have the one I wanted anyway.

They did have what was left of their Christmas stuff at 50% off, including liquer chocolates. Only 1.50 for a box? I'll have some of them. And then on the top shelf they had coffee packs & tea packs. The tea box had two little cups with saucers, two boxes of tea bags, a little jar of jam & one of marmalade and a cute little teapot. And my little, everyday teapot is broken (the spout broke). But I bought a full size teapot yesterday. But it's only 9.95. But that's what I paid for the big pot. ... So it came home with me too.

It's a big box for what it holds (lots of space to make it look like an impressive present) and quite heavy, so I didn't really want to walk all the down to Officeworks to buy ink.

Instead I went to the post office, where they only had cartridges. *sigh* I do need ink and, you know, it is good to replace the cartridge occasionally. So that came home with me too.

Then I caught the bus home.

No more spending now.
