Jun. 28th, 2005 05:15 pmYears ago, when I first started using IRC on austnet, I registered the nick I was using. June 1996 actually. On the larger networks, to stop a nick from expiring, you need to identify at least once every two week. Might vary from network to network but on Austnet it's about 2 weeks.
This nick has been continously registered since June 1996. Even when I stopped playing on Austnet, I'd go back every weekend or so to keep it going. But I got busy in the middle of June and it's been 22 days since it was last there. And the nick expired :\
I should have let it go years ago. All my channels over there died ages ago and I don't know anyone who goes there now, but it was like a last little remnant of the old times.
Silly thing to get upset over, but it meant somthing in it's own little way and now it's dead.
