Chapter 6 took much longer than it should have. Why?
Because it sucks. Because I was busy. Because I couldn't get enthusiastic enough it to find time to work on it.
Well one scene sucks. It was a cool scene but it didn't take the plot anywhere, so I rewrote it with a different situation and it went to the same action .... Then I rewrote that with totally different action. So now it's relevant to late stuff but nothing actually happens.
And there's the other scene that seems a bit contrived. Well the action is contrived, that's the point. But I rushed it so it seems move contrived than it should be.
And then there's the last scene with is just talking heads. It sums up the actions after the first scene but it's still lacking.
So the whole chapter sucks
And then there's this big pause. There's no action/cliffhanger to carry over into the next chapter. Partly because it jumps in time.
To a really short chapter 7.
Then another jump in time. Or I could combine 7 into 8 but the bit in 7 works better if it occurs earlier.
Bleargh. Middle of the book syndrome! Or the 1/4 of the way through the book syndrome?
I think it needs a blank page with "Intermission" printed on it in big letters.
