On the end of the desk there's a couple of shelves where I stuck all the useful non-fiction books. Although for some reason I don't use them. OK there is a reason. If I pull one out, the others all fall over but that's only because I haven't put them in properly and could be fixed.

I just forget they're there. I've put all the 'word books' there. You know the dictionaries (inc. the little American one) and quotes books and baby names books. And I've put all the 'look things up in' books there, like the weapons book & the anatomy and physioloy text book* & both copies of Brewers. And then all the books I might need for some reason, like the body trauma book & the guides to Versailles (well...).

And then I effectively forgot about them. Which is rather silly. Because looking something up in a relevant book is usually much quicker than searching through a gazillion mostly irrelevant web pages. Must find a way to make them more accesible I think.

*that I just opened for the first time in 15 years. Loking at the contents page, I remember why I didn't bother going on with bio. :|
