Reading dreams
Aug. 25th, 2004 11:16 pmDream this morning was in a book, so I could read the words. One of the characters in the story was reading it as it happened.
They had arranged that the daugher of one family would marry the son of the other because they were closely related & that woud double up on the "blood" of their common ancestor. There being concerns that the families were marrying too many outsiders.
Anyway, the girl is shown two photos of boys, one of which is the one they want to marry, and asked which one she wanted to marry. She picks one and then gets upset, because she beieves they want her to marry the other so she runs into the city.
(insert chase sequence through cool looking narrow streets & laneways in a large shopping centre)
The father is reading the story at this stage (he's got POV) and when he catches up to her, she starts to talk, about how they arrived and the ship they came on but they don't have much time so I start to skim read and accidently go forward too fark. At the bottom of the page, I see that the father & possibly daughter are attacked, with a knife. I go back to find where they're still talking about how they arrived, knowing I'll get to the interesting stuff soon.
Then my mobile phone goes off. At 7.12 am. Sheesh.
I did get back to sleep for a while and found myself in an Asterix like comic book, where towards the end they start wearing all white & painting everything white but all of the pages at the end had the left 2/3 cut off so it was hard to work out how it ended.
