to write anything but too tired to get up & go to bed too.
I can sleep in tomorrow 'cos I don't have to go to museum. Today I had a list I'd made of what they should have related to a particulur collection & I had to compare this to what was in the back room. Adjoining the history office, there is this huge ex-railway shed (being as the site used to be be railyards) that could probably hold 3 or 4 houses, and down the end of this, on one side, is the "back room". It's rather cold in there. And it, well both rooms, are full of the weirdest stuff.
The list, of course, was very detailed. It had things like "lens", "sing. lens", "lenses etc", "large lens". And "lens" could be an actual camera lens or a piece of cut glass to be used in something. And then there was "razor", "razor", "razor", "razor", "razor", "razor", "razor". And my favourite "unidentified piece of metal". Only one?
Did some more proofreading. This proofreading is slow going & I haven't typed up the fixes yet. Would be quicker if I'd stop "reading" it and "editing" it as I go. I do like to read it though :)
Came home early.
In my in my mailbox I found a bag of old photo cigarette cards & a bag of USSR coins. At least they were supposed to be USSR, I found a Russian coin & a Bulgarian one in there. Two extra ticks on my list of countries.
And therein is a problem I keep having in this "a coin from every country". I'm not happy with just one for each country that currently exists, I like the variations as well. So, I had to have Russia, USSR & imperial Russian ; while the French coins take up three lines in the album; and there's the decimal & predecimal NZ coins; and India is real assortment and I decided it was easier to just put the UK/British coins in a bag (except the old ones,of course) for now.
But it's fun.
