Plan today was simple:
I was going up to the Gorge to get some photos to fill in the gaps in the webpages I'm doing. Camera was recharged. Card was empty. I was going to get off the bus in the city and either walk up Paterson St, or catch one of the buses the went up that. Although, on the way in, I thought I could get off near the Old Seaport and walk up through Royal Park, just on the off chance that there was something different to see. Ha ha.
This is the Old Seaport, for those that don't know the area. Old being derived from Olde, being a place tourists go to spend money.

There are restaurants, an expensive hotel & apartments, a walkway that continues up along the river and lots of yachts/houseboats. It's certainly an improvement on what used to be there but you know, it's not Hobart's waterfront.
Today though, I saw a sight not often seen in the Launceston

That's not a yacht. It's too tall, and wooden. In fact, it looks a lot like a brigantine.

Yep, Windeward Bound having some repair & maintenace work done.

She usually looks like this. That's from the one time I was able to get some photos that didn't look like a black blob with a yellow stripe.
So, I thought, here's an opportunity to get some photos that are something other than a black blob with a yellow stripe.

Except the sun was behind and low. So we have black blog with a white stripe instead. No matter, seems I've got a couple of months to get better photos.
So, because it was getting late & it gets dark earlier in the Gorge, I walked up through Royal Park, and played with the sepia mode on the camera, which is rather fun.

That cloud is rather weird though.
There's the cloud in the colour version.

Yes, that's colour, taken in standard colour mode. You can see why I was playing with sepia instead.
