Check with your airline. You might not be able to, and the rules differ greatly. Examples.
Some airlines limit you to 3 bottles. (But that was a trans-atlantic flight)
At one time I was told I couldn't pack alcohol in my checked luggage, that was so counter-intuitive that I ask them (politely) to double check. Had to unpack and hand carry 3 bottles of very old Scotch) (as for why it sounded stupid, it's flammable for goodness sake! and that's assuming it's really scotch.)
All that being said, I usually but my bottles in something soft (gorilla slippers normally) and pack them in t-shirts or other clothes that will clean easily. I use fabric sided luggage (as opposed to hard shell) so I avoid the middle, but pack close to a rigid end with extra padding between the slippers and the side of the luggage.
The problem with checked luggage though is that the cargo hold isn't pressurized. You might want to see if they'll let you carry them on, then just pack them in a backpack with lots of padding so they don't clink/crash when you're moving the pack around.
One airlines (I can't remember which ones I'm flying on *sigh*) has a limit of 5L of between 24% & 70% alcohol, the other just has 5 L. Neither of which is a problem (I've got 4L). Both have ticks for carry on, checked or on the person.
I had been thinking of using mailing tubes in the suitcase but now you've made think, carry on might be safer for the bottles. I do have a lot of bubble wrap too.
Problem is, I go from the plane to an overnight train so I'll quite a bit of other stuff in the carry-on bag. Although I could stick that in the top of the suitcase and get it out at that train station.
