Considering the pros & cons of writing "period dialogue".

• If it's done well, it adds a bit of spice, an extra touch of authenticity & helps establish setting.
  
  
• If it's done badly, it sounds awful.
  
  
• It means taking time to do the research (is this a pro or a con though?)
