One of these days...

It occurred to me it might be a good idea to find some "things" or at least computer wallpaper that would symbolise the current Work in Progress. This, I've found, makes it harder to avoid and helps get me in the right frame of mind when working.

This is why I have these on top of the monitor.



That, and I don't have anywhere else to put them. They're still there (well three of them, the fourth has gone to join the others on the stereo and desk)
even though there's no ships in current novel. Even added one of the bits I got for Christmas up there today.

Actually, that's what reminded me I need to find something for current novel. Of course, before I could start doing that, I noticed that something was jingling every time I moved the desk. Nothing on the desk. So I started looking at the stuff down the side. Mostly books & paper (did find my baby name book & the pirate sticker book, that I was using to reward myself for finish scenes a while back) although there's some other stuff, like the power board for the computer, which I managed to knock a cord out of. The cord actually, the one for the computer. If its been coming out for a while, possibly a good thing that I noticed.

No luck finding the jingly thing though. It sounded much like a small bell, rather than two things hitting against each other

Had to give up. Even considered the things on top of the monitor, the anchors might have been hitting on something.

Then I noticed what I'd put up there a few minutes ago.

This is the non-clothes stuff I got for Christmas. You might notice there is just one thing that is small enough to fit on the (crowded) monitor top, that would fit in with the ship theme.
