Just had a look at the Thylacon program to see what I got put. Admittedly I did tell the lovely Tansy something like: these are possible panels, stick me where you need someone.

So I have:

  • Is there Life in the Old Dragon Yet? Traditional Fantasy in the New Millennium

  • Centrelink 2050 - what jobs will we lose to the new technologies?

  • Last battles, holy wars and duels to the death: why fantasy needs fight scenes.

It's the last one that I'm a little worried about*. One of the other panellists in the guy I get to 'check' my fight scenes. Now, if it was to stay on topic, I can be quite talkative on that but you know... OTOH it's one of the last panels at the con, against a last chance to meets the GOHs panel, so probably no one will turn up!

The good thing is none of them are at time when I wanted to be elsewhere.

Actually, I'm a little worried about all of them. Maybe I'll pack some vodka in the suitcase. That'll get me talking ;)

You'll do fine. I had a loop thrown at me at Norwescon at the Writing Beginnings section asked me to read the beginning paragraph of my book. I knew that one worked, so I was confident. Then, he asked me to read the beginning paragraph of my second chapter...Well, I wasn't sure how it opened, but it was strong too. So I didn't look silly. You'll often surprise yourself how good your writing can be.
