Some people shouldn't be allowed out at night. Also I need a tripod :(

That's not as dark as it looks. It was more a "too dark to take photos-just after sunset" level of light. I'd hoped to get some sunset photos but there wasn't one so I thought I'd try some dusk photos and then head back before dark.

I wandered about for a bit trying to find some useful flat surfaces to put camera on (flat surface + timer = get rid of camera shake) and suddenly I realised it was dark. Oops.

Photo 1

There was a slight lack of street lighting. Just the one that's providing that greenish light.

Photo 2

Also a big spotlight, but no flat surfaces here.

Photo 3

I included this photo because I like it.

The other problem I have with taking photos at night is giving the camera something to focus on. Usually I put timer on, focus on a light, put camera on flat surface and wait. Takes time and some trial and error, but I often get cool things. But as you can see, no lights within sight of the bench I was using as a flat surface. I tried focusing on my little torch but that needed three hands. Eventually I found a light down the road a bit. So I'd go over, focus on that then run walk quickly back to the chair that I couldn't see and put camera down before the 10 secs were up.

That is why I like this photo.

Also, it's not a spooky, ruined solitary prison building, because I wouldn't be there in the dark.
