Doesn't feel like I've been posting much lately, not about me anyway. I s'pose I should.

Been reading (Uni stuff) a bit. Also decided to read through the box of comics to see if there's anything else interesting in it. Not yet. Think there'll be another big pile to take to market though then I can by some more on Ebay.

Went out to Franklin House last week to take photos to turn into magnets, which I will print out if I ever when I get money from Clarendon for the magnets I sent out there. I could post some of those I guess.

Got back to working on Fox. Something shook loose last week. Some of that from what I was thinking through with the posts on heroes. This could be a theme through a novel but it never developed. It should be more. It gives the MC's more motivation for their actions. (Is that suitably vague?) Also, for the first time since I started working in the rewrite, it doesn't have to compete for my attention with more demanding novel/characters. It's hard to really get into working on something, when there are other things demanding more attention.

Trying to cook pancakes. Made one the other week with milk, SR flour & a touch of sugar. (Mix well, leave to sit for a few minutes, tip into pan that has melted butter in the bottom.) It came out just right. Successive attempts been too runny, or two thick or they stick to the bottom of the pan and turn into scramble goo. Pot too hot? Too cold? Wrong combination of ingredients? I don't know :(

(Last attempt worked, except I got impatient waiting for it to cook. Thicker is better, then it doesn't mix with the butter that is s'posed to be stopping it from sticking to bottom of pan)

Dog is quite well. She's even less happy about being picked up in the morning (to go outside). Vet, last year, reckons it's just usual muscle soreness in the morning. Not going to get any better over winter though. I'm wondering if some of the arthritis treatments might help. She needs more exercise too.

Front Gate

Franklin House, in Franklin Village, on the edge of Launceston. Heading south, there's about a handful of houses before the city boundary.

This was the first property obtained by the National Trust in Tasmania, when it was it was rescued about 1960.
More photos, obviously )
