Two unrelated things

First, need some help here trying to identify an image. Something I've seen somewhere before

It's a face of a knight/man wearing armour, front on; helmet is like a upturned bowl with / \coming down each side, and there is chanmail or something similar around the lower head. Medieval, or earlier.

I'm thinking carving, brass rubbing or similar.

Edit: scratch rubbings.

Second, artillery shells -- when did they get timed fuses? Too many websites on similar but not quite what I want topics.

Edit: got that. Didn't know fuze was a word (Macquarie doesn't either).
