Remember I forgot to verify wordcount for Nanowrimo, again.

*sigh*

They should either allow you to verify earlier in month or send reminders :\

At least when you stuff up making chocolates, you end up with something still edible. It just looks crap.

For some reason the brown chocolate won't melt. The white (shop brand) stuff melted easily. The dark ('premium' that you buy at the same place as the moulds) stuff melted quite well, although slower than the white. The brown (same as the dark) stuff has just gone into hard clumps. *sigh*

Will have to buy more of each it seems, to finish the house (which I'm doing in dark & white, but I've run out of each) and make enough for gift sets.

It's a good thing I didn't try the chess set.

Later observation -- brown milk chocolate looks much the same as dark, until you add it to the half-filled mould and notice dark streaks appearing in it. I shall just have to make it look deliberate by doing the same to the other wall.

Looks like there nothing wrong with the brown chocolate after all. I must have got water in the first two batches, or something.

Stopping to ponder word counts.

The first draft for this novel was 62,900 (written in 24 days, that was my first attempt at Nanowrimo "I thought this was supposed to be hard?").

In that first draft, the point I reached tonight is 15950 words in.

In the second draft, I'm up to 24780. Even allowing for the scenes I skimmed earlier on, that is not double. Yes!

If it continues like this, I'll have room to play with in final draft. Although I suspect there's going to be a lot more & fro type banter in the coming section. The sort of stuff that should be cut from a short story but I like to read in novels.

I'm also at the 1/4 way point. Good. Momentum is picking up too.
