A hole

There's a dead man trying to take over my writing again. Go away! I am not going to write any stories about you.

What I do have to do... I looked at the next bit to be written and found a big gap. There's a jump in time and place, and nothing to bridge it with.

Usually I'd put in a scene from the secondary plot line but there's nothing going on there either until the primary plot line gets to where it's going. I could put the next scene in as one chapter again (grumbles). Move all the secondary plot line along a chapter maybe. The thought of that makes my head hurt though.

Art appreciation?

The QVMag aka the museum has an art exhibition on, "French Masters from the Musée Léon Dierx", which has been promoted all over the place, as below:

"In a coup for Tasmania and for Ten Days on the Island, Launceston’s Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery will host an exclusive Australian season from 12 March – 12 June 2005 of rarely seen artworks by Picasso, Gaugin, Chagall, Renoir, Manet, Matisse and other significant artists of the French avant-garde movement" from http://www.qvmag.tas.gov.au/whatsoninv.html#frenchmasters

It's $13 for a ticket.

But they sent all these free passes to Launceston ratepayers and Friends of the Museum and other groups. Which means I managed to get one, today, so I went to see it for free.

Which is a good thing because I really don't think I would have been happy if I'd paid $13 to see it. Maybe I'm uncultured but I find the regular art gallery more interesting. Possibly because it was mainly small stuff like etchings, litographs, pencil sktches; whereas in a gallery I want paintings & colours.

I found it more interesting to look at the title/captions and work out if the English version was really the same as the French. (I'm not going to use the accented letters, my fingers hurt.)

Fun, but $13 worth? Nah.
